The Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team launched its 2015 season today with teammates Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo unveiling their new livery to the world’s media at the headquarters of title sponsor Telefónica in Madrid, Spain before settling down to speak about their title hopes for this year. We are once again fortunate to have two great champions in the team and two of the best riders in the world Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo. Lin Jarvis Joining Rossi and Lorenzo at the launch was the president of Telefónica España, Luis Miguel Gilpérez along with General Manager of Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd’s Motorsport Division, Kouichi Tsuji, the Managing Director of Yamaha Motor Racing Srl, Lin Jarvis, and Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s Team Director, Massimo Meregalli. The 2015 Yamaha YZR-M1 retains the familiar overall dark blue and white colour scheme with a revised and resized Movistar logo and a refreshed livery. Also presented were the Team’s new partners Abarth, the FCA Group’s prestigious, sports oriented brand and Cromax, the global coatings brand for refinish body-shops. Abarth and Cromax were not the only new faces as Japanese technical clothing manufacturer Descente joins as the clothing provider for the team. Following a photo session both Rossi and Lorenzo took questions from the assembled media on the new machine and their hopes for the upcoming season with Rossi chasing his 10th World Championship title and 5th for Yamaha and the Doctor’ finishing second overall last year while Lorenzo looks to get off to a better start this year compared to a disastrous first half of the 2014 season. Rossi and Lorenzo ready to get on track in Sepang next week With the first official test of 2015 scheduled to take place at the Sepang International Circuit next week 4th-6th Feb, both Rossi is excited to see the progress of the Yamaha engineers on the new M1. He said, “To present the bike and team means that a new season is about to start. The desire to start a new challenge is really huge, especially after the positive end of the 2014 season. Finishing second in the world championship was important, but this year the goal is even higher. Yamaha have worked so hard during the winter, and me too. I am in good shape, I feel good, I'm training a lot and I'm ready to begin the hard work at the Sepang test. The new bike is really beautiful; I really like it. Now I want to meet up with my team and work with all of them to achieve the best possible results. It will be a very interesting season. I will have very strong opponents, starting from my teammate who will surely be better prepared this winter. It will be important to do a good test and arrive at the first race with everything in the right place, then we will be ready to fight for victory,” Rossi added. Lorenzo revealed that he has been training harder in the off-season this year and feels more confident about the upcoming season. “This event always means a special date for all of us,” Lorenzo said who continued, “It’s the official kick off of the season and I have to say it’s usually a special moment because we can see the final project and also the new livery. I love the new bike and I’m waiting to test it as soon as possible. With this unveiling starts a new challenge, an amazing challenge. I am much more motivated than ever to start this season. I have prepared well physically and I feel good mentally too. This year we have high hopes with the new M1 because in 2014 we found at the end a good base and we could fight for the podium regularly during the second half of the season. I am convinced that this year things will change and both Yamaha and I will put all our efforts to try to achieve the goal that is simple to fight for the title. Last year many things happened but I've also learned a lot and I think we can compensate and make a great year. I’m waiting to kick off the coming season in Qatar!“ Lorenzo added. Telefónica President Luis Miguel Gilpérez said he is happy to continue with the partnership with Yamaha and revealed that in the past year they increased their number of customers from 700,000 to 2 million. He said, “We will bet for motorcycling once again in 2015 with the focus not only on our clients but also on the people who are not. We will offer them the chance to ride the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP bike, while sitting in front of their own TV’s, so they can see that we are capable of offering the best TV, the best sport and show with a new form of accessing it, from all of their devices with a multi screen option.” Yamaha racing boss Lin Jarvis is very happy to have the continued partnership with Movistar and is convinced Rossi and Lorenzo will be fighting for many victories this year. He said, “This year we have decided to present the new bike at the home of Movistar, at the Distrito Telefónica in Madrid. The “M” for Movistar on the fairings of our M1 is even bigger this year representing even greater union between us. We are once again fortunate to have two great champions in the team and two of the best riders in the world Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo. Both want to achieve their goal, to win races and to win the title and I am sure they will be committed to work together as Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team Factory riders to make their bikes faster and more competitive to challenge our competitors. Jorge Lorenzo when asked what are the chances of winning another MotoGP championship, he commented that it is possible. The Spaniard claimed that he has been training hard for the upcoming season and it has been the hardest he has ever trained. He believes if he starts the year strong he will finish the year strong. HondaCBR1000RR livery MotoGP Tim LCR Honda - Motor dengan corak MotoGP memang punya daya tarik tersendiri. Tak heran kalau masing-masing pabrikan punya varian livery tersendiri. The new M1, which will be campaigned by seven-time premier-class champion Valentino Rossi and Yamaha's most recent grand prix winner Maverick Vinales, will carry a striped black and blue colour scheme. This marks a departure from the primarily blue liveries that the works outfit ran throughout the last few seasons. The revised paint scheme is a legacy of a change in title sponsor, with Spanish telecommunications company Movistar replaced by energy drink giant Monster. “We're kicking off here in a very positive way,” Yamaha managing director Lin Jarvis said at the season launch in Jakarta, Indonesia. “I think the merging of these two brands [Yamaha and Monster] brings a new energy to the project. “We like a lot the colour of the bike, the design, it's more aggressive – and I think that's what we need to be.” Rossi added “I like very much [the new livery] – Yamaha is always blue, and the blue of the Yamaha is beautiful, but I like the black of Monster because [the combination is] the colour of my soccer team, Inter, so I feel comfortable." Monster was already backing both Vinales and Rossi before the change, and also served as the title sponsor for Yamaha's satellite team Tech 3 before the French outfit switched to the KTM camp in the off-season. “I'm excited that we've been able to step up and expand our visibility as the title sponsor of the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP team,” said Monster chairman and CEO Rodney Sacks. “Vale and Maverick will be piloting what we think is the best-looking bike on the grid.” The works Yamaha team will look to rebound from what was a disappointing 2018, which marked its longest-ever win drought in the category before Vinales snapped the streak at Phillip Island. The underwhelming campaign led to the departure of Yamaha's MotoGP project leader Kouji Tsuya, who has been replaced by former head of chassis division Takahiro Sumi in the off-season. Vinales and Rossi, who are both signed with the manufacturer through 2020, will make their debuts riding the new M1 in the first pre-season test at Sepang on February 6-8. “I can't wait to start, the holidays were already too long,” Vinales said. “I would like to be on the bike. “I'm really curious to see the steps forward we did, and see if we can push the bike at the maximum already in the first test.” Yamaha Motor Racing, YZR-M1 1/15 Photo by Yamaha MotoGP Yamaha Motor Racing, YZR-M1 2/15 Photo by Yamaha MotoGP Yamaha Motor Racing, YZR-M1 detail 3/15 Photo by Yamaha MotoGP Yamaha Motor Racing, YZR-M1 detail 4/15 Photo by Yamaha MotoGP Yamaha Motor Racing, YZR-M1 detail 5/15 Photo by Yamaha MotoGP Maverick Vinales, Yamaha Motor Racing, YZR-M1 detail 6/15 Photo by Yamaha MotoGP Valentino Rossi, Yamaha Motor Racing, YZR-M1 detail 7/15 Photo by Yamaha MotoGP Yamaha Motor Racing, YZR-M1 8/15 Photo by Yamaha MotoGP Valentino Rossi, Yamaha Factory Racing, Maverick Vinales, Yamaha Factory Racing 9/15 Photo by Yamaha MotoGP Valentino Rossi, Yamaha Factory Racing, Maverick Vinales, Yamaha Factory Racing 10/15 Photo by Yamaha MotoGP Yamaha Motor Racing, YZR-M1 11/15 Photo by Yamaha MotoGP Yamaha Motor Racing, YZR-M1 detail 12/15 Photo by Yamaha MotoGP Valentino Rossi, Yamaha Factory Racing 13/15 Photo by Yamaha MotoGP Maverick Viñales, Yamaha Factory Racing 14/15 Photo by Yamaha MotoGP Valentino Rossi, Yamaha Factory Racing, Maverick Vinales, Yamaha Factory Racing 15/15 Photo by Yamaha MotoGP

The team held a launch event in Madrid on Wednesday morning to show off an altered colour scheme including more prominence for title sponsor Movistar. Yamaha's riders have lost the title to Honda man Marc Marquez for the past two seasons, and were left reeling when Marquez won 10 straight grands prix at the start of 2014. Kouichi Tsuji, group leader of Yamaha's MotoGP programme, said the margin between the two teams was smaller than results suggested, and that though there was limited scope for big steps, his team had made significant progress. "We had second on the podium 10 times, and eight times the difference from the winner was two seconds after a 120km [75-mile] race," he said. "The development room with the bike is very small, but we did many things to try to find those two seconds in the races because we want a champion at the end of the season." Team boss Lin Jarvis said Yamaha had the riders and technical package it required to take on Marquez and Honda this year. "You have to learn from your mistakes and to continue to develop and evolve," he said. "We have to get everything right. Everything has to be perfect from the first race. "That's a difficult call, but I think our riders are well prepared and our team are well organised. We're ready to go. "I think both Valentino and Jorge are in great shape physically and mentally. "Last year Marquez had a phenomenal year, so we know the level of competition will be super-super-strong, but we have the riders we want. "I'm totally confident they will go out there and be competitive and win many, many races." LORENZO HAS ADDRESSED FITNESS After running Marquez close for the 2013 title, Lorenzo had an awful start to the '14 campaign with a series of early mistakes quickly dropping him out of championship contention. He admitted during the year that he had not been in proper physical condition for the start of the year following winter surgery to address 2013 injuries, but is adamant he is now in much better shape. "Maybe last year I took a little too much holiday and made a few mistakes in planning pre-competition," said Lorenzo. "This year I'm not going to make this mistake and I'm going to be in better shape. "I feel very good - I'm thin, just like when I was 20. There's no way to measure one's physical capacity, but you get certain feelings and I've never trained so hard or for so many hours. "Everything was very well planned. I'm working on those weak points from last year." Author Bike Social Posted: 28 Jan 2015 . Yamaha has unveiled its 2015 MotoGP YZR-M1s at a special launch event in Madrid today. The machines, which will be piloted by team-mates Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo in the premier series this season, also have a new colour scheme and livery which includes more emphasis on the team’s title sponsor, Movistar.
